How can scientific findings find their way into operational practice more quickly?

At the Transfer-Dialog in HubWerk01, companies, research institutions, and other regional stakeholders come together to exchange ideas.
The focus is on the topic of agentic AI: What potential does it offer for companies and municipalities? Where are its limits and risks? And how can we bridge the gap from initial ideas to operational practice?
The aim is to achieve the most balanced participation possible from both science and industry. Small companies are also specifically targeted and integrated into the exchange. The idea for this event was initiated and supported by Dr. Thorsten Schwarz MdL. The focus is on personal exchange, new impulses, and the joint further development of the region as a location for business and innovation.
Impulses from Practice and Science
Short impulse talks provide the introduction to the evening:
Prof. Dr. Steffen Kinkel, Hochschule Karlsruhe (HKA) / ILIN, brings the scientific perspective on the human-centered design of agentic AI.
Mirko Holzer, computer scientist and founder of, among others, BrandMaker and SPRIND, shows the practical view on AI agents.
Panel Discussion: What do we gain, what do we give up?
Under the title "What do we gain, what do we give up? Agentic AI between productivity, risk, and competence," the panel discussion deepens the results of the World Café. Participants include:
Dr. Janika Kutz, Fraunhofer IAO / KODIS, with research on acceptance and trust in AI – also with a view toward municipalities
Dr.-Ing. Dirk Schweinberger, tech-solute GmbH, Bruchsal, as a voice for innovative technical SMEs
Klaus Kallenbrunnen, kalebru GmbH / Flagbit, on the path of AI agents into regular operations
Dr. Jan Zipp, KI-Allianz Baden-Württemberg eG, Head of AI Strategy & Innovation, providing a classification of opportunities and risks from the perspective of the state-wide AI ecosystem
Joining the Conversation
In the subsequent World Café, participants work in small groups on specific questions regarding possible applications, existing hurdles, and first steps for successful collaborations. The results flow directly into the moderated panel discussion and are further deepened there together with representatives from business, science, and transfer.
