AI Basics Training – Understanding AI and Using It Sensibly

The AI Basics training explains in plain language what generative AI can and cannot do. Participants learn about opportunities, limitations and risks and develop a concrete, responsible way to get started in their everyday work.

Artificial intelligence is changing the world of work in companies, municipalities and organisations. The AI Basics training creates a shared understanding and shows in a practical way where AI can help in everyday work and what to keep in mind when using it.

    Contents

    • What generative AI can and cannot do: key terms, how it works in plain language, opportunities and limitations
    • Areas of application: communication, research, writing, summaries, idea generation and simple process support
    • Quality and risks: hallucinations, bias, confidentiality, checking sources and human responsibility
    • Getting started safely: choosing suitable tasks, checking results and agreeing on first team rules
    • Live demonstration and first exercises with simple practical cases

The full-day format adds department-specific examples, a use-case workshop to prioritise your own applications, the basics of an AI guideline and a team roadmap with the first three to five use cases.

Result: Participants understand the key AI terms, can assess suitable areas of application and have a concrete, responsible path to get started.

Format: Half day (approx. 3.5 hours of net learning time) or full day (approx. 6.5 hours of net learning time). Input, live demonstration, guided practice and transfer to participants' own work.

Suitable for: Managers and teams with no or initial AI experience, companies and municipalities.

The training supports organisations in building AI literacy and can serve as a documented measure within an AI literacy concept. It does not replace legal advice.
