    OT-1: Product Compliance

Products may only be placed on the market if they are safe. What the EU's regulatory framework means for manufacturers and operators of machinery, systems and devices – and what is coming next.

A product may only be placed on the market if it is safe. This principle has been anchored in the European Union for decades – and it is currently being renegotiated. Around 20 years ago, the New Legislative Framework (NLF) gave the EU a system of regulations and directives that is both clear and adaptable. But connected machines, manipulable controllers and corrupted software are putting this system to a new test.

The uncomfortable question in 2026: Do you know which requirements will soon apply to your machinery, systems and devices – and what that means for your products today?

Module OT-1 brings order to product compliance: how the European system works, which roles manufacturers and operators play in it, and where the requirements are heading. Using practical examples, you learn to assess the status quo of your own application, to recognise upcoming obligations early and to derive the necessary measures.

Who it is for: Manufacturers and operators of machinery, systems and devices – management, product owners, engineering and technical staff.

Prerequisites: Knowledge of mechanical engineering or device development.

Format: Half-day on-site training (4 hours) at HubWerk01 with 8 to 12 participants from different companies. Certificate of attendance on completion.

Good to know: The training provides orientation and replaces neither individual legal advice nor a product-specific standards analysis. Operational implementation – such as risk assessments or technical documentation – is outside the scope of the training.
